Death Of Minor Due To Medical Negligence At Cuttack, Probe Underway
Cuttack: There has been allegations regarding a patient’s death due to medical negligence. A private hospital in Mangalabagh locality of Cuttack was accused of causing the death. The Mangalabagh Police has started an investigation into the matter after receiving a complaint against the hospital.
The family member has admitted the boy to the private hospital at Mangalabagh for his surgery. The boy reportedly hailed from Jajpur district of Odisha. The boy’s condition worsened on being given an injection before surgery leading to his demise.
However, the hospital authorities informed the family of his worsening condition and him being shifted to ICU. This was an alleged attempt to mask the death. They did so to conceal their fault.
The operation was cancelled and the family were forced to sign some papers. The family members didn’t sign those papers and went straight to police. The Mangalabagh police on being reported recovered the dead body and sent it to SCB Medical for autopsy. The police have also started the investigation on the matter says report.
