BEIJING: The death toll from a coal mine accident in Pingdingshan city of central China’s Henan province has risen to 13, the mine owner said on Sunday.
According to Xinhua news agency, three people are still missing in the accident that occurred on Friday.
The accident occurred at the coal mine of Pingdingshan Tiannan Coal Mining Co., Ltd.
Preliminary investigation suggests that it was caused by a coal and gas explosion. Rescue operations are still underway.
