Debt-ridden Supplyco is considering entering liquor sales
Thiruvananthapuram: Supplyco, Endudada, is considering foraying into liquor sales. These thoughts come at a moment when their future prospects are surrounded by uncertainty.
Civil Supplies Company has started preliminary studies to dedicate itself to liquor business on the lines of Consumerfed. However, Suoplaiko will only proceed if the government approves its plans. It is to be noted that, apart from the points of sale of beverages, there is also ConsumerFed which manages small liquor shops in the state. The federation currently owns 41 small wine shops and three cerveserias and wineries.
With outlets across the state the supplier has adequate facilities to facilitate the sale of liquor. The Civil Supplies Corporation will have the right to receive 20 percent of the profit earned from such sale.
It is to be noted that so far the Federal Government has opened 68 additional liquor shops to reduce crowding at the Beverages Corporation’s sales outlets. It is said that the authorities have not been able to find a suitable building. This can be considered an opportunity for suppliers, who were troubled by the crisis. If the government approves Supplyco’s proposal, it will speed up the processing of special taxes.
