Dehra youth cheated of Rs 18.5 lakh in the name of telegram task
Dharmshala. A youth from Haripur under Dehra sub-division of Kangra district has become a victim of fraud of Rs 18 lakh 51 thousand in the name of Telegram task on the internet. The young man has lodged a complaint of cheating in cyber police station Dharamshala. Nitin Sharma of Haripur Dehra told that he saw an advertisement for earning money on the internet. There was talk of earning lakhs of rupees by investing some money sitting at home.
When the link given with the advertisement was clicked, it reached the site of Telegram app. There he was told that he could earn money by starting with an investment of Rs 100. For this he got registered. After registration, if you invested Rs 100, you got Rs 200. Similarly, for the second time Rs 500 to 900 were received. Out of greed he invested more money. The increased amount of money was shown on the ID created by them but they were given tasks to earn it. During one such task, cyber thugs defrauded him of Rs 18 lakh 51 thousand. Cyber police station in-charge Kamlesh Kumar said that on the complaint of the victim, a case has been registered against unknown people.
