Delhi Airport Terminal-1 roof collapses, 1 dead, government says – it was built in 2009 during UPA government
New Delhi: One person died and 5 were injured in an accident at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) on Friday morning. Politics has also intensified after the tragic accident of the roof of Terminal 1 collapsing. Congress and BJP have started blaming each other. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has blamed corruption for the accident, while the Modi government has responded by saying that the part that has collapsed was built in 2009 (during the UPA government).
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge strongly attacked the Modi government after the accident at IGI Airport. He counted the incidents ranging from the shed collapse at Delhi Airport, Jabalpur Airport, waterlogging in Ayodhya, leakage in Ram Mandir to the bridge accident in Morbi, Gujarat and said that all this is the result of corruption during the 10 years of Modi government.
Kharge said, ‘These few examples are exposing Modi ji’s big claims and BJP’s ‘world class infrastructure’. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated T1 at Delhi Airport on March 10, he called himself a ‘human of the other soil’. All this false applause and rhetoric was done only to cut the ribbon before the elections.’ Expressing condolences to the victims, he said that they suffered the consequences of a corrupt, incompetent and selfish government.
