Delhi-Katra Expressway harbinger of development, prosperity: Punjab CM
AMRITSAR: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Thursday envisioned that the Delhi-Katra Expressway will herald a new era of development and prosperity in the state.
The Chief Minister, who accompanied Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to review the work on the project, said work on the project would be completed soon. The state government has extended support and cooperation to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to complete the project on time.
Mann said that the project will boost economic activities in the area, as well as open new avenues of employment for the youth.
The Chief Minister expressed hope that this project will provide much-needed boost to trade and commerce in the state, thereby making Punjab a leading state in the country.
With the intervention of the Union Minister, work on this project will accelerate further, which will give a boost to the economy of the state.
CM Mann said that apart from boosting economic activities in the area, the highway will provide convenience to pilgrims visiting Mata Vaishno Devi temple.
Apart from this, Chief Minister Mann said that 254 km long highway will be constructed at a cost of Rs 11,510 crore. This highway will pass through nine districts of the state, Jalandhar, Sangrur, Malerkotla, Patiala, Kapurthala, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Tarn Taran and Gurdaspur.
