Delhi weather: Minimum temperature recorded at 6.1 degrees Celsius

Delhi: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said the minimum temperature in Delhi on Tuesday was recorded at 6.1 degrees Celsius, which is one degree below the seasonal average. According to IMD forecast, the maximum temperature in the national capital is likely to be around 18 degrees Celsius today. The department said that due to fog, visibility in Palam, Delhi reduced to 200 meters at 7 am, which improved to 250 meters by 9.30 am. In Safdarjung it was 500 metres. According to Indian Railways, 28 trains were reported to be delayed by one to three hours due to low visibility.

Moreover, the air quality remains in the very poor category at many places across the city. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), at 9 am in Anand Vihar, PM2.5 levels were recorded at 344 in the very poor category and PM10 at 235 or worse.

Good air quality index (AQI) between zero and 50; Satisfactory between 51 and 100; moderate between 101 and 200; bad between 201 and 300; Very bad between 301 and 400; And between 401 and 500 are considered severe. The PM2.5 level at Terminal-3 of IGI Airport was at 209 and PM10 at 121, which fall in the poor and moderate categories respectively.
