Delhi’s air quality in ‘very poor’ category
Delhi. The air quality index in the national capital remains in the ‘very poor’ category. The video is from India Gate and ITO area. According to CPCB, Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) on Monday was 263, which is more than five times the normal.
After the turmoil in Punjab, pollution in Delhi has started increasing. Its impact will gradually reach UP. Kanpur’s AQI is 140 which is almost three times the normal. North-west winds are still blowing. Fog knocked in before November, smog also usually starts from November but this time it has started in the month of October itself. Fog has started falling in open areas in the morning and late night. It is sure to appear in the form of mist and fog within 24 to 48 hours.
The day temperature on Monday was 30.8 degrees. There was no change in this compared to Sunday. On the contrary, the minimum temperature increased from 14.8 to 15 degrees. It is still possible for the night temperature to increase further but the day temperature may decrease. If the north-westerly winds do not become too strong then the foggy conditions may persist for two-three days.
