Dengue is flourishing, Rs 3300 fine imposed on 20 people spreading filth
Raigarh: Collector Taran Prakash Sinha took a review meeting of the work done in dengue control in the Collectorate meeting room. In the meeting, Collector Sinha took information from the responsible officers one by one about the work done by them on dengue control. It is noteworthy that in view of the increasing dengue cases in the city, Collector Sinha has imposed the duty of Anganwadi workers and Mitanins along with district level officers and employees for supervision in the entire wards of the city for the purpose of dengue source reduction and creating awareness.
In the meeting, the responsible departmental officers gave information to Collector Sinha about the work done in various wards respectively. Officials said that during door to door inspection, water was found in various items like cots, empty tyres, helmets, which were cleaned and people were made aware. So that dengue larvae cannot flourish. Along with this, pamphlets are being distributed by Anganwadi workers and Mitanins for awareness. Collector Shri Sinha directed the Education Department to provide information to children regarding prevention of dengue in schools. Along with this, he directed the officials to encourage people to use mosquito nets and avoid water logging during the inspection.
After this, Collector Sinha held a meeting with the officers and employees of the Health Department and the Corporation. Collector Mr. Sinha said that at present it has been raining only, hence after the rain stops in the coming days, the possibility of increase in dengue infection will increase. For which instructions were given to carry out continuous cleaning work. He took information about the work being done at present from the Health Officer and took information about the action plan. The Health Officer said that at present fogging, cleaning, garbage collection and spraying of medicines are being done continuously in the wards of the city. Collector Sinha instructed the cleaning inspector and all the cleaning workers to carry out cleaning work on mission mode for the next fortnight. So that dengue cases can be controlled. During this, District Immunization Officer Dr. Bhanu Patel informed about the number of dengue infected patients in the city. Also, Medical Officer Dr. P.K. Gupta informed the officers and employees about prevention, symptoms and protection from dengue. He instructed the cleaning workers to wear full sleeve shirts during cleaning work and apply lotion to protect from mosquitoes. He said to protect yourself and work.
Additional Collector Rajiv Pandey, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Sunil Kumar Chandravanshi, CMHO Dr. Madhulika Singh Thakur and district level officers and employees were present in the meeting.
Under the direction of Collector Mr. Sinha, toll free number Nidan 1100 has been issued for complaints related to cleanliness. On which complaints can be made regarding the filth of the wards. Collector Shri Sinha said that it should be ensured that the complaints coming from different wards of the city are resolved immediately. So that people get relief from cleaning work.
Collector Sinha said that due to dumped raw material in various places of the city, situation of drain jam and water logging is being created, which will cause infection. Priority action should be taken against those dumping raw materials. In the same sequence, the corporation yesterday imposed a fine of Rs 3300 on 20 people who spread filth. During this, he warned everyone not to litter and advised them to take legal action along with fine if they litter again.
