This was the time when Dilip Kumar had not stepped into the film world. Troubled by his father, he started working in the British canteen. It is said that he used to make sandwiches in the British canteen. He used to make amazing sandwiches. People used to come from far and wide to eat this sandwich. The British rulers treated the Indians very badly. After this, for his anti-British speech, he was sent to Yerwada Jail, where many satyagrahis were imprisoned. During that time the Satyagrahis were called Gandhiwala. Dilip Kumar also sat on hunger strike in support of other prisoners. However, he was released the next day by a Major who recognized him.

Dilip Kumar’s family shifted from Peshawar to Mumbai before the partition of the country. After this Dilip Kumar joined Bollywood. He started his career in 1944 with the film Jwar Bhata. But no one paid attention to this film. After this, many more films came which could not do anything special at the box office. The film Jugnu released in the year 1947 made Dilip Kumar taste success. After this he did not look back and became famous in the industry as Tragedy King.
He was married to Saira Banu, 22 years his junior.
Dilip Kumar married Saira Banu in the year 1966. At that time there was a difference of 22 years between the two, which could not stop the love. Dilip Kumar suffered from several ailments in the last years of his life. In such a situation, on July 7, 2021, at the age of 98, he said goodbye to this world. On his death, the government sent him off with full state honors by wrapping him in the tricolor.
