Senior Superintendent of Police gave symbolic vote in voter awareness camp
On Thursday, Senior Superintendent of Police Jitendra Meena cast a symbolic vote at the demonstration center set up in the district office under the awareness of EVM and VVPAT machine in the voter awareness camp and also took a selfie in the selfie zone after voting. Collector Shri Vijay Dayaram K. was also present on this occasion.
Under the guidance of Collector and District Election Officer Vijay, voter awareness programs are being organized to ensure cent percent exercise of franchise by the voters in the 2023 assembly elections. Electronic Voting Machine Demonstration Center has been set up in Collectorate and all Sub-Divisional Officer Revenue Offices to inform voters about EVM and VVPAT machines and voting process in polling booths.
In this Electronic Voting Machine Demonstration Center, voters are being made to cast their votes by pressing the button of the voting machine. EVMs are being promoted in all polling stations. It may be noted that under the voter awareness program SVEEP, information is being given to the general public regarding EVMs and VVPAT machines for inclusive, easy and participatory elections. Under the Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) system, a slip of paper is generated immediately after the vote is cast. The name and symbol of the candidate for whom the vote is given is printed on this slip. After the voter sees this slip on the screen of VVPAT for 7 seconds, it gets cut and falls in the box of VVPAT.
