It is believed that by worshiping and fasting on this day, one gets the blessings of God. This time the festival of Mahashivratri is being celebrated on 8th March, Friday i.e. today. On this day, devotees perform Rudrabhishek to please Lord Bholenath, hence today we are telling you the correct and complete method of Rudrabhishek.
Perform Rudrabhishek of Mahadev with this method-
Before performing Rudrabhishek of Lord Shiva, meditate on Shri Ganesha. Then install the Shivling in the north direction and first anoint the Shivling with Ganga water. After this, anoint with milk, curd, honey, ghee, sugar etc. While consecrating God, definitely chant his mantras.
At last, once again anoint Lord Shiva with Ganga water. Apply sandalwood tripund to Shiva. Offer a garland of flowers and offer Belpatra. After this, decorate the Lord with clothes, Rudraksh etc. Offer fruits, flowers etc. Chant 108 names of Lord Shiva. Now complete the puja by performing Aarti and then blow the conch shell. Finally distribute Prasad to all the members of the house.
