Doctor killed wife and 2 children before committing suicide

A doctor posted at a railway hospital here allegedly killed his wife and two sons before committing suicide, police said on Wednesday. Mirzapur native Arun Kumar Singh (45) was an ophthalmologist at the Modern Rail Coach Factory Hospital since 2017. He lived in a house with his wife Archana (40), his son Aarav (4) and his daughter Areeba (12). Located inside the hospital complex. The incident came to light on Tuesday night when the doctor’s colleagues informed the police after no one from the family responded to telephone calls. Private police opened the door and found the bodies. Superintendent of Police Alok Priyadarshi said it appeared that Singh had injected his sons with medicine to render them unconscious before killing them, adding that the minors died from blows to the head, while Singh was found dead. According to neighbors in the neighborhood, the family was last seen two days ago on Sunday.
