Dog brutally killed in Raipur, incident happened just 50 meters away from the police station

Raipur. In the capital Raipur, a crowd of people beat a dog to death with sticks in the middle of the market. Even after this cruelty, he was not satisfied, so he tied a rope around the dog’s neck and dragged it mercilessly on the road. The case is of Gudhiyari police station area. According to information, some youths crossed the limits of cruelty with a dog on Monday night near Pahadi Chowk Hanuman Mandir of Gudhiyari police station area. Some youths of Adarsh Nagar caught a dog. They started beating him with sticks. The dog was beaten till it died. After this, the accused tied a rope around the dog’s neck and started dragging it on the road. The biggest thing is that the whole incident took place just 50 meters away from the Gudhiyari police station. Moreover, two policemen also passed by at the time of the incident, but they too did not stop the accused from doing so.

The same incident happened in the middle of the market, where many people and vehicles are seen coming and going on the road. But still no one tried to stop the incident. The video of this incident has gone viral on social media. It can be seen in the viral video that the traffic was completely normal at the time of the incident, yet the youths were neither afraid of the law nor of the people. Even the policemen passing by didn’t stop their car. In this case, Devendra Nagar police station in-charge Alexander Kiro said that the dog had bitten 5 children of Adarsh Nagar locality, due to which angry people beat the dog to death with sticks. Some youths involved in this incident have been called to the police station. He is being questioned further. He said action would be taken against the accused under the Animal Cruelty Act.

The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act was brought in the year 1960 to prevent cruelty against animals in the country. Along with this, the Animal Welfare Board of India was formed in the year 1962 under section-4 of this act. The purpose of this act is to prevent unnecessary punishment of animals or the tendency of animal cruelty. Many types of provisions regarding the matter are included in this act. For example, if an animal owner leaves his pet stray or does not treat it, keeps it hungry and thirsty, then such a person will be guilty of animal cruelty.
