To understand this, we have to know the importance of this posture of Nandi from the point of view of practical life-
Nandi’s message is that as he is the vehicle of Lord Shiva. In the same way our body is the vehicle of the soul. Just as Nandi’s eyes are towards Shiva, similarly our eyes should also be towards the soul. The simple meaning of this is that every person should keep examining the merits and demerits of his mental, practical and speech.
One should always keep in mind the interest, benevolence and goodness of others like Lord Shiva, who is auspicious and well-being. Nandi’s indication is that only when the attention of the body is towards the soul, every person can be pure by character, conduct and behavior. This is what is called clarity of mind in common language.
Due to which the body also becomes healthy and only when the body remains healthy, the mind also becomes calm, stable and full of determination. In this way a balanced body and mind only takes you closer to success in every work and goal. In this way, whenever you go to the temple, after worshiping Nandi with Shiva, come back keeping the welfare of Shiva in mind. This is called bringing the Shiva element into life.
