Aligarh: A shocking case came to light in Aligarh, UP. Where a bride refused to marry at the last moment. After which the procession had to return empty handed. In fact, on Tuesday, in Mohalla Sarai Rehman of Bannadevi police station area, the bride refused to marry after demanding a bike and a plot as dowry. Wedding preparations were completed in the guest house. Later, the girl’s brother lodged a complaint in the police station to take action against the six including the groom. Talks continued between the two parties in the police station till late evening.
The marriage of a girl resident of Mohalla Sarai Rehman was fixed with a young man resident of Hadi Godown. The wedding procession was to come on Tuesday. Complete preparations for the wedding were going on in the guest house located at FM Tower. It was decided to give a bike and household items in the marriage. The girl’s side bought household items. Apache wanted to give the bike, but the boy was asking for another bike. It is alleged that on Monday night, about 20 people from the boy’s side came to collect dowry items. Here they started demanding a bike and a plot and Rs 4 lakh. Hearing this, people from the girl’s side were shocked. An argument started between the two sides. People gathered nearby. On this the bride refused to marry. On Tuesday, the girl’s brother complained to the SSP. It is said that dowry was demanded at the last moment. When we took the complaint to Rasalganj outpost, we sent it to Bannadevi police station. Where instead of taking action they gave assurances and walked around.
In this case, Inspector Devendra Tyagi said that there was a dispute between the girl and the young man regarding the bike while demanding dowry. The girl is refusing to marry. Right now talks are going on between the two sides. Action will be taken on the basis of complaint.
