Dozens of trains canceled and pressure increased in those trains which are running, passengers upset due to delay
Rajnandgaon: Railways has canceled more than a dozen trains passing through the local station due to maintenance work in various railway sections. At the same time, due to the delay in the number of passenger trains running, railway passengers are getting worried. Railways has canceled such super fast and express trains as Chhattisgarh and Gondwana Express which cover more stations in Chhattisgarh and cover longer distances. Apart from this, Intercity, Azad Hind is arriving late these days. Due to which passengers are getting disturbed in the station.
Passengers who had planned their journey and made reservations are now having to cancel their tickets. A large number of railway passengers are reaching the railway station to cancel their tickets and get refund. Due to cancellation of trains, passengers had to postpone their journey. Railways had canceled 16 MEMU passenger trains between September 19, which includes 5 MEMU passenger trains going from Dongargarh and Durg stations to Raipur station. Whereas 11 trains are from Bilaspur to Shahdol, Gevra Road, Gondia to Katangi and Wadsa routes. After this, 24 trains have been canceled on the Katni route till October 6. Due to this, passengers going towards Madhya Pradesh have no option.
Due to these trains being canceled, other trains became a support.
Gondwana Express was canceled on Saturday. Howrah-Mumbai Mail, Chhattisgarh Express, Secunderabad Express, Chhattisgarh canceled in the other direction, Gondia-Raipur canceled, Raipur Superfast, Gondwana, Dnyaneshwari Express, Mail, Kurla-Shalimar also remained cancelled. Especially passengers reach here from Gondia and Nagpur by these trains: Gondwana, Gondia-Raipur Local, Chhattisgarh Express, Kurla Shalimar. But due to cancellation of these trains, the passengers had to travel painfully by paying expensive fare in general coaches of other trains.
Azad Hind and Intercity reached 4 hours late
On Saturday, Hatia-Pune reached late by about one and a half hour. Mumbai LTT Express arrived late by 4 hours, Parebandar Superfast by 6 hours, Jan Shatabdi Express by 1.25 hours, Azad Hind by 4 hours, Samrasata by 6 hours, Ahmedabad by 2 hours, Barauni Express by 2 hours, JD by 1.25 hours. In the other direction, Samta arrived late by half an hour, JD by one and a half hours, Intercity by 4 and a half hours, due to which the passengers waiting for trains in the station were troubled. A large number of trains have been cancelled, hence the pressure of passengers has increased in the general coaches of the trains running, while the Railways has provided the facility of additional coaches in only a few trains.
Passengers reaching the station to cancel tickets
With trains being cancelled, passengers have also had to postpone their journeys. Due to this, a large number of passengers are reaching the booking counter of the railway station to cancel their tickets and their queues are forming. Station Manager RK Burman said that how many trains passing through the local station were cancelled, how many tickets were canceled and how much amount was refunded to the passengers, it is calculated on a fixed date at the end of every month. It has been said that information along with figures will be available in a day or two. It can be said that a large number of tickets were canceled and refunds were given. However, this also includes such passengers who postpone their journey not because of train cancellation but for their personal reasons and also come to get their tickets cancelled.
