In the latest case, Dr. Vikas has told people the ways to avoid snakebite and has also told that if a snake bites, then how to identify whether the snake is poisonous or not. Along with this, detailed information has also been given on how to take care of a person who is a victim of snakebite till he reaches the doctor.
What to do:
- Call an ambulance immediately
- Move the person away from the snake.
- If the wound is below the heart, make the person lie down.
4.Keep the person calm and comfortable and immobilize the person as much as possible to avoid spreading the venom. - Cover the wound with a loose and clean bandage.
- Remove any jewelry or tight clothing from the affected area.
- If the snake has bitten on the leg, then remove the shoes.
- Call an ambulance immediately.
- Take care of the time of snake bite
what not to do:
1.Do not give any medicine to the person unless directed by the Dr. - If the snake bite wound is above the person’s heart, do not bite the wound.
- Don’t try to suck out the venom
- Do not use cold compress, ice on the wound.
- Do not give the person alcohol or caffeinated drinks
- Do not let the victim walk. Take them from the vehicle.
- Do not try to kill or catch the snake. If possible, take a picture of the snake.
- Do not use any pump suction device.

What are the symptoms of snake bite? - Vomiting, shock, stiffness or tremors Allergy
- Falling of eyelids, swelling, burning and redness around the wound
- Change in skin color, Diarrhea, Fever, Abdominal pain, Headache, Nausea
- Paralysis, fast pulse, fatigue, muscle weakness, thirst, low BP
How to know whether it is poisonous or not? - There are 250 species of snakes in India, out of which 4 are the most deadly. Common cobra (nag), saw-scaled viper, common krait and Russell’s viper.
- The top of poisonous snake is very huge (triangle) while the top of non-poisonous snake is normal.
- Usually 2 tooth marks are of poisonous snake and many small marks are of poisonous snake.
