Driver’s driving license suspended for 3 months with immediate effect
Kawardha. On the instructions of Collector Mahobe, major action has been taken on Jai Bhoramdev Travels Bus. During the heavy rains in the district yesterday, the passenger bus of Jai Bhoramdev Service, while driving carelessly, crossed the pool at Harinala on Kawardha Pandariya road, despite the water flowing over the pool and the path not being visible. Collector Janmejay Mahobe immediately took cognizance of this information. On the instructions of the Collector, District Transport Officer Mohan Sahu seized the bus for violating the permit conditions under the Motor Vehicles Act and parked it safely in the Kawardha police station premises, while the driving license of the bus driver has been suspended for the next three months.
The District Transport Officer said that prima facie, carelessly crossing the water-filled pool by putting the lives of the passengers at risk on the part of the vehicle driver falls in the category of gross negligence. Due to negligence, the driving license of the driver of Jai Bhoramdev bus was suspended for 3 months with immediate effect and the bus was confiscated at the police station. The Collector, keeping the weather in mind, was asked to give necessary instructions to all the bus operators. All the bus operators of the district have been directed not to make the buses cross the flowing water over the pool in case of heavy rains. In such a situation, keeping in mind the situation, all the buses should take their vehicles across the river-drain pool only when the condition is normal, so that any kind of untoward incident can be avoided. If the above instructions are not followed or any kind of accident occurs, action will be taken against the concerned vehicle under the Motor Vehicles Act and also action will be taken to suspend the driver’s license.
