Punjab: Pathankot police have arrested a “top smuggler” and partially stopped the flow of pure grade heroin to various states from the International Border (IB) in this district. Acting on intelligence gathered over the last few weeks, sub-inspector and in-charge of Pathankot CIA Anil Kumar today arrested Jatinder Kumar alias Kali from Jainpur village. The suspect, a resident of Old Taragarh, was instrumental in supplying heroin to people living in villages near the IB and also to other states. He allegedly acquired the drug through drones flying from Pakistan. “Preliminary investigation has revealed that the suspect received several packets of heroin on six occasions,” SSP Daljinder Singh Dhillon said. A case has been registered at Narot Jaimal Singh police station.
