Drunken friend throws young man out of moving car, drags him 25 KM to painful death
Bhopal: According to information from Sehore police, a person died tragically after being dragged for more than 25 km by a moving car on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. Two people have been arrested.
Shyampur police station in-charge RN Malviya said that the youth was thrown out of the car, but because he was wearing a seat belt, he did not fall on the road and was dragged. The victim has been identified as 33-year-old Sandeep Naqwal.
According to the information, the deceased was the father of two children, he was dragged for 25 km on the Bhopal-Gwalior highway due to which he died. When motorists passing on the road started calling ‘Dial 100’ to report the horror of the incident, a police patrolling car chased the accused and stopped the vehicle at a toll gate. By then the bones of the victim Sandeep Naqwal’s body and his skull were broken. The left side of the sedan car was soaked in blood.
Sehore ASP Sameer Garg said police arrested Sandeep’s cousin, Sanjeev Naqwal (53), and a friend who was driving the car, Rajesh Chadhar (38), and booked them for murder. The ASP said, ‘The deceased Sandeep was dragged for more than 25 km before the car was stopped. Both the accused said that they did not know whether Sandeep was entangled in the seat belt, or whether he was being dragged, due to which he died.
The drivers passing by got scared after seeing this scene. The first call to the police was made at 9.50 am. Eyewitnesses said that the car was traveling at a speed of 100 km per hour. Some drivers tried to alert Sanjeev and the driver but to no avail. Police said the two, who were allegedly intoxicated, did not pay any attention. A police patrolling team was sent after them and stopped them at Duraha toll plaza, about 35 km from Bhopal. Even the policemen were not able to see the mutilated body.
