Durga idols were immersed
Bhubaneswar/Cuttack: According to reports on Thursday, the immersion of Durga idols in both cities Bhubaneswar and Cuttack is almost complete. Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) and the Commissionerate Police of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack had made all arrangements for a peaceful and orderly immersion. The Commissionerate Police, Pollution Control Board and Fire Department had made various arrangements for the immersion. All the Durga idols were gradually taken out of the pandals. All these will be brought to temporary ponds created by BMC for immersion. Strict blockades and checks were imposed along with traffic cuts in both the cities during the immersion. A total of four artificial ponds have been created on the banks of Kuakhai and Daya rivers for immersion of the idols. The Devi Garh at Cuttack was prepared with three temporary ponds for immersion of the idols. To organize the traffic, traffic guidelines have been issued by the Police Commissionerate. 55 police platoons, eight additional DCPs, 34 DSPs, 54 inspectors, 350 SIs and ASIs have been deployed. They will be responsible for carrying out the immersion of Durga idols with peace and order.
