ED raid, commotion at Jhunjhunwala Group’s locations

Varanasi: ED raids are going on at a dozen locations of Jhunjhunwala Group in Varanasi, Delhi, Kolkata and Rohtas. Enforcement Directorate has raided the residence of JVL Agro Limited’s head Dinanath Jhunjhunwala in the case of bank loan scam. Action is going on at Sarnath, Sindhaura Road residence including Nati Imli and factories in Jaunpur, Bihar. The team reached all the places simultaneously at 6 am. A team of more than 15 officers is present at the residence located at Nati Imli only. At Nati Imli residence, the officers are searching the files related to bank loan and the company’s properties.
JVL Agro Limited had taken a loan of more than Rs 200 crore from Bank of Baroda and other banks, which was not returned. Departmental action is being taken against the company by the banks for about five years. The company’s accounts were also seized and attached.
