ED raids at many places in Dhanbad
Ranchi: The Enforcement Directorate team is conducting raids in Dhanbad, Jharkhand since Thursday morning regarding the sand scam in Bihar. It has been told that a raid is going on at the locations of Surendra Jindal and Mithilesh Singh in Sindri, Dhanbad. A large number of security personnel have been deployed at the residences of both of them in Jaiprakash Nagar and Chanchani.
It is reported that sand trader Mithilesh Singh has been taken into custody by ED. However, this has not been officially confirmed. Let us tell you that earlier on June 5, ED had conducted raids in Dhanbad and Hazaribagh of Jharkhand.
Then, Sanjay Singh, brother of a Manipur cadre IPS in Hazaribagh and former secretary of Jharkhand State Cricket Association, Punj Singh, director of Broadson Commodity Pvt Ltd and Mor Mukut Pvt Ltd in Dhanbad, company partners Surendra Jindal, Jagnarayan Singh and Mithilesh Singh, A raid was conducted at the house of builder Ritesh Kumar Sharma.
Jagnarayan Singh alias Jagan Singh and his son are in jail in this case. Wherever ED raids are going on, all of them are related to Broadson Commodity Private Limited. This is the same company which had taken up the work of sand lifting in five districts of Bihar (Patna, Bhojpur, Rohtas, Chhapra, Aurangabad).
This company was run by Dr. Ashok Kumar, Jagnarayan Singh, Mithilesh Kumar Singh, Ashok Jindal and Punj Kumar Singh. All of them were partners of the company. It is being told that in Bihar, sand worth more than Rs 1,000 crore has been mined illegally and sold in the open market.
