Education Department Integrated District Information System nears completion of student data collection

Shillong, April 12: The Meghalaya State Education Department (SED) is nearing completion of student data entry work for the Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE). To date, *93% student data has been entered by all schools within the stipulated time of April 15, 2024 to complete the process.

SED also addressed the large number of student entries currently in the “Dropbox” category. SED has urged schools to review and finalize admissions for these students, so that they can be removed from Dropbox. Schools facing challenges in this regard are encouraged to seek assistance from their respective Block MIS Coordinators

UDISE National Education Database is a comprehensive national data repository containing information on schools, teachers and students from across India. Developed by the Department of School Education under the Ministry of Education, the database is maintained by the National Informatics Centre.

Data warehousing plays a vital role in planning and effective decision making within the education sector. By ensuring availability of accurate and complete information, the government can efficiently allocate resources and target initiatives to areas of utmost importance and need.
