Education is the medium to bring change in life: Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel
Raipur. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel virtually distributed appointment letters for the post of assistant teachers to 142 youths belonging to special backward tribes ‘Pahadi Korwa’ and ‘Birhor’ of Jashpur district in a program organized at his residence office here today. It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, during the meeting in Bagicha, had announced the appointment of youths belonging to special backward tribes on direct recruitment posts. Following which appointment letters were distributed to 142 youth today.
It is worth mentioning that even before this, appointments have been given to the candidates of hill Korva tribe in various government departments of Jashpur district on 57 posts according to their eligibility. So far, 708 youths belonging to special backward tribes have been given government jobs in the state. Tribal Development Minister Dr. Prem Sai Singh Tekam, Industry Minister Kawasi Lakhma and Director of Tribal Development Department Mrs. Shammi Abidi were also present on the occasion at the Chief Minister’s residence. Parliamentary Secretary U.D. Minj and MLA Vinay Bhagat joined the program through virtual medium from the venue.
Addressing these youth through video conference, the Chief Minister said that education is the only medium that brings change in life. Education only paves the way forward. Mr. Baghel said that you people studied under adverse circumstances. May the blessings of your parents also be with you. You have become a teacher, teach the children with all your heart so that the children have a good future. The Chief Minister said that several schemes have been made by the state government for the upliftment and development of special backward tribes. Promote them as much as possible in your society so that more and more people from special backward tribes can take advantage of them. He congratulated the youth and wished them a bright future.
Chief Minister Baghel said that the tribal society is traditionally a backward society in the race for development. In this society some communities have been left far behind. We know these communities as Special Backward Tribals. Multidimensional efforts are being made by the state government for the upliftment of the special backward tribes of the state. Educated youth of these communities are being given direct appointment in government services according to their eligibility.
The Chief Minister said that to ensure the rights of water-forest-land for the upliftment of tribals, we have implemented the best rules of PESA law. The purchase and processing of 65 types of forest produce at the support price is providing employment and good means of income to the forest dwellers. Arrangements have been made for their purchase by fixing the support price of Kodo-Kutki-Ragi. Input subsidy is also being given for these crops under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana. The Chief Minister said that these youths have done their studies in very difficult circumstances. Getting appointed as assistant teacher will increase the enthusiasm for studies in these communities.
Tribal Development Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam while addressing the program said that the state government is running several schemes for the upliftment and development of the tribal community. He asked the youth to educate the coming generation as a teacher and motivate children to study. Parliamentary Secretary Shri U.D. Minj and MLA Shri Vinay Bhagat while addressing the program said that in order to connect the people of Pahadi Korva and Birhor community with the mainstream, the state government has provided appointment letters to 142 youths of these tribes. He thanked the Chief Minister for this.
Commissioner of Tribal Welfare Department, Smt. Shammi Abidi said that maximum 199 youths belonging to special backward tribes have been given government jobs in Jashpur district. Similarly, jobs have been given to 95 youths of these tribes in Balrampur district and 80 in Kabirdham district. Collector Jashpur Dr. Ravi Mittal said that among the youths of special backward tribes who were given jobs today, 124 passed Higher Secondary Certificate Examination, 11 passed graduation and 06 passed post graduation included Pahadi Korwa. Appointment has also been given to 01 candidate of Birhor community. Who has passed Higher Secondary Certificate Examination.

The youth of Pahadi Korwa and Birhor community, a special backward tribe of Jashpur district, are very happy to get government jobs. He expressed gratitude while expressing happiness on receiving the online appointment letter from Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel. The Chief Minister also had a cordial discussion with these youths and extended his greetings and best wishes for their happy life.
Sushri Asima Bai, who was appointed as an assistant teacher in village Kurhatipna of development block Bagicha, told the Chief Minister that her father worked as a laborer and got her education up to graduation. She was selected as a guest teacher in 2019-20, due to which there was some improvement in the economic condition of her family and today, after getting appointment in government service, she will now be able to cooperate in the upliftment of her family and society. She said that she will make the society and the state proud by passing the UPSC exam in future. Mr. Brajkishore Ram of village Kalia of Bagicha development block, who was appointed as assistant teacher, told Chief Minister Mr. Baghel that his parents got him educated till graduation by working as agricultural laborers. He was earlier appointed as a guest teacher through the Mineral Trust Fund.
Mr. Vijay Kumar, a resident of Navrangpur village of Bagicha development block and appointed as Assistant Grade 3, said that he could not complete his engineering studies due to financial constraints, his parents worked as agricultural laborers and under MNREGA to complete his graduation. Completed his studies. He was earlier appointed as a guest teacher. I got appointment on the post of Assistant Grade-3 in Tribal Welfare Department in Jashpur district.
Mrs. Shambati Pahadia of Saraitoli, Sanna, who was appointed on the post of Class IV sanitary attendant, told that her parents got her education by taking agricultural wages and loans. These appointed youth expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister. Shanshu Ram, a student of village Rajpur, studying in class 10th at Sankalp Shikshan Sansthan of Rajpur, Bagicha, spoke to Chief Minister Mr. Baghel in fluent English. On being asked by the Chief Minister, Shanshu Ram told that he wants to go to IIT Mumbai for engineering studies in future. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that you have seen a very good dream and hard work is needed to fulfill it. If you study with discipline, hard work and true dedication, then definitely your dream will come true. Expressing her views, Mrs. Pandri, the patron of Pahadi Korva community of Manora development block, also expressed her gratitude to the Chief Minister.
