Efforts are being made to make women empowered and self-reliant in the state: Chief Minister

Uttarakhand. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of police line, administrative buildings, barracks and residential buildings worth Rs 53.43 crore in Police Lines. In this, the administrative building of Police Line Dehradun, built at a cost of Rs 13.14 crore, inauguration of Police Line and IRB barracks and construction of various categories of residential buildings in Police Line Dehradun, Sardar Patel Bhawan Dehradun, Dhaurankhas Dehradun and Police Colony Kishanpur costing Rs 40.29 crore. Along with this, the virtual laying of foundation stone of administrative building, barrack, guard room of Police Line Almora and administrative building and quarter guard building of Police Line Chamoli is included. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the state government is fully committed to the welfare of police personnel and providing them residential and non-residential facilities. In this direction, a provision of Rs 100 crore will be made in the next three years for the construction of residential and non-residential buildings. In the future too, the state government will continue to provide budget to the police department as much as possible from its financial resources and will also try to provide maximum budget to the police department from central schemes. He said that we are continuously working to make Uttarakhand Police a modern and smart police force as per the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The Chief Minister has expressed confidence that all the police personnel and officers will also cooperate in fulfilling this “resolution” of ours.

The Chief Minister said that apart from maintaining law and order, police play a big role in conducting pilgrimages like Chardham Kavad. Despite all the challenges, so far this year more than 50 lakh devotees have come on Chardham Yatra and 4.15 crore Kavad pilgrims reached their destination carrying the holy Ganga water. The Chief Minister said that today criminals are adopting new methods of committing crimes and cyber crimes. In this direction, the police has to work to curb them by using modern technology. He also appreciated the efforts of the police for better law and order in the state. On this occasion, after the inauguration of the Upva Diwali fair, the Chief Minister, while inspecting the stalls set up in the fair, said that today women are becoming self-reliant. The government led by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is working to make women empowered and self-reliant in every field. Our government is also working in the interest of women by forming Lakhpati Didi Yojana, Mukhyamantri Mahalakshmi Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, tap water to every house, construction of toilets, special fund for women self-help groups. The state government has made arrangements to give 30 percent reservation to women in government jobs. The Chief Minister said that while all the mothers and sisters of the state have made themselves economically self-reliant through their tireless hard work, they have also kept the civilization and culture of Devbhoomi alive, this fair is a living example of this. In the fair, the Chief Minister himself purchased sweets and other local products. On this occasion, MP Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Mayor Sunil Uniyal Gama, MLA Khajan Das, MLA Vinod Chamoli, Additional Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, Director General of Police Ashok Kumar, UPWA President Mrs. Alaknanda Ashok along with others were present.
