Elderly woman murdered on charges of witchcraft
Katihar: An elderly woman was allegedly murdered by slitting her throat on the charges of witchcraft in Falka police station area of Katihar district of Bihar.
According to the police, Bugiya Devi (63) was murdered by slitting her throat while she was sleeping in Mahadalit Tola village, Ward 12, Mohammad Nagar, capital, Bharsiya Panchayat. When other family members of the house woke up in the morning, they saw him lying dead on the cot. There were many wound marks on the dead body.
Poonam Devi, daughter-in-law of the deceased, has accused neighbor Manny Rishi of murder. He has alleged that after his father’s death, he always used to harass my mother-in-law Bugiya Devi by calling her a witch and threatening to kill her.
Falka police station in-charge Munna Kumar Patel said on Saturday that after the information, the police reached the spot, took the body into their custody and sent it to the hospital for postmortem. The process of registering an FIR is underway in this matter. Police are investigating the matter.(IANS)
