Election Commission took action on paid news, notice issued to Congress candidate also

The Media Certification and Monitoring Cell constituted for the assembly elections has considered the news published in a local daily regarding Beltara’s Congress candidate Vijay Kesharwani as paid news. The returning officer also issued a notice to Kesharwani. Also, considering the published news as paid news, it has been included in the election expenses of the candidate under the category of advertisement. Notice has also been issued to other candidates regarding some other news. After receiving the replies, a decision will be taken whether they are considered paid news or not.
It is noteworthy that as per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, Media Certification and Monitoring Committee has been established in the New Composite Building of Bilaspur, which monitors the campaigning done during the elections on various mediums of communication like newspaper, radio, television and social media.
