Electric bus will take Ram devotees to visit Ayodhya
Ayodhya (IANS). As the grand temple construction work is going on in the city of Shri Ram, a huge crowd of Ram devotees from India and abroad is continuously coming to Ayodhya. In such a situation, as soon as the construction of the temple is completed, lakhs of devotees from India and abroad are expected to come every day.
To provide them an easy way to reach Ayodhya, the construction of Janmabhoomi Path, Bhakti Path and Ram Path is in progress. Yogi government is going to start e-bus service soon to provide travel facilities to the passengers on the roads under construction.
This means that before the construction of these roads, e-bus service will be started in Ayodhya Dham. The government has made plans for various pilgrimages of the state including Ayodhya.
To operate this system, the process of purchasing electric buses has to be done at the government level itself. E-buses will be purchased simultaneously for the entire state at the government level.
Regarding this scheme to be run by Ayodhya Municipal Corporation, ADA’s VC and Municipal Commissioner Vishal Singh said that a fleet of 25 electric buses has been approved from the government level.
The buses are expected to be delivered to the Ayodhya Municipal Corporation in September. The responsibility of construction of workshop and charging station of these buses has been given to C&DS Unit-44 of Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam.
He said that apart from construction of workshop/depot, an amount of Rs.12.50 crore has been allotted to the selected agency for construction of charging station. A trial was conducted during the Chaitra Ram Navami fair for the operation of electric buses in Ayodhya.
For this, buses were sent from Lucknow depot. Along with this, half a dozen employees including ARM were also temporarily deployed from Lucknow itself to oversee the system. The charging station was built in the interstate bus stand complex of the highway itself.
Due to Ram Path being under construction, they were operated outside the city. At present, the electric buses operated by the government were run free of cost for nine days.
After the success of the bus operation, it was decided that with the completion of the construction of the Ram temple and the under-construction roads in Ayodhya, e-bus service should be made available to the Ram devotees coming from outside the city to visit Ayodhya.
