Electricity connection cuts are scaring you, beware of fraud

Raipur: Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Electricity Company has issued an alert saying that fake SMS are being sent to the mobile phones of consumers by cyber thugs. In which the message of disconnecting the connection if the electricity bill is not paid is written. Also, people are asked to contact through a fake mobile number of 10 digits.
On calling this number, cyber thugs pretend to disconnect the electricity connection. The electricity company never sends any message to its consumers from the 10 digit mobile number nor is any payment accepted on the 10 digit mobile number.

The power company never asks to click on any link nor does it ask to download or use any app other than ‘More Bijli App’. Instead of the consumer number, cyber fraudsters ask for the consumer’s mobile number and ask to provide payment related information. Also, they ask to go to Play Store and download an app, due to which consumers can become victims of fraud. Consumers have been requested to make all electricity related payments only at the electricity distribution company’s counters, ATP centres, Mor Bijli App, company’s website CSPDCL.co.in or authorized outlets of CAC or pay point. Apart from these, do not pay any amount through any other means.
