Elephant cub found dead in pond

Raigarh. An elephant cub died due to drowning in water in Hati of the district. The elephant group had come out of the forest and reached the pond to take bath, when this incident happened. After the information of the incident, further action is being taken by the department.

A group of 152 elephants is roaming in different forest areas of Dharamjaigarh Forest Division. On Thursday morning, a group of 52 elephants came out of the forest to take bath in the pond in compartment number 554 RF of Hati Beat of Chhal Range.

Here the elephants stayed in the water for a long time, but when the rest of the elephants came out of the pond, one cub drowned in the water and could not come out. In such a situation, he died due to drowning in water. After the incident, the department got information about the case, then somehow the body of the cub was taken out on the spot and further process is being completed by making a Panchnama in the case.
