Elephant havoc in residential area, 4 families rendered homeless

Raigarh. In Junwani village, just 8 kilometers away from the district headquarters, an elephant created havoc in the village late on Thursday night. The elephant has broken the boundary of three houses and one house. After getting information about the matter, the Forest Department team reached the spot on Friday morning and started taking further action.

According to the information, elephants have been camping in the forests of Bangursiya-Junwani area of Raigarh district for a long time. In Junwani village under Raigarh forest range, a male elephant knocked at the village at around 3 o’clock on Thursday night. During this time, the elephant has destroyed three houses one by one in search of food.

Among those whose houses were demolished by the elephant, apart from Basant Malakar, Harihar Maitri, Shanti Bai Yadav, the house of Mahavir Sahu was also demolished. In this incident, Shanti Bai Yadav, who was sleeping at home, has been admitted to the Medical College Hospital due to leg injury. Let us tell you that whenever elephants reach residential areas, they create havoc and return back to the forests.
