Emmy Award winner Vir Das calls Shefali Shah ‘India’s Meryl Streep’

Comedian Vir Das recently won the International Emmy Award for Comedy for his standup special titled ‘Vir Das: Landing’. After sharing pictures with the trophy, Vir Das shared some ‘real moments’ from the Emmy Awards on his Instagram account, and shared the story behind each moment in a long caption. She praised her fellow Indian candidate and Delhi Crime actress Shefali Shah by sharing a picture with her. Vir Das says he knows Shefali Shah will win an Emmy in future In his post, which included several special moments from the Emmy Awards, Vir Das also shared a picture of him and Shefali looking at a delicious dessert. He called Shefali the Meryl Streep of India and wrote, “I watched Shefali Shah this entire weekend. She is the Meryl Streep of India and I want her to see the impact she has on people. Reliability comes from patience. Here we are looking at dessert after talking about how we both wanted awards which I know is in her future.” Shefali Shah reshared it on her Instagram story and wrote, “And hope we get to share the table again with @jimsarbhforreal, and cheer for each other.” He then added, “You are so kind @virdas.”
