Employees became careless after implementation of code of conduct, cleanliness system started deteriorating

Sirohi (Rajasthan): After the imposition of code of conduct with the sounding of Sirohi election bugle, now government employees of many departments have become careless. The result of this is visible in the deteriorating cleanliness system at Mount Abu, the only hill station of the state. These days, due to the negligence of the municipal employees, the cleanliness system in the hill station Mount Abu has failed. Despite changes in the sanitation system by the municipality, the situation is not improving. On the other hand, due to non-availability of vehicles to collect garbage in many colonies for a week, garbage has started piling up in people’s homes. The distressed colony residents have now stopped informing the municipality employees about the problem. Because despite informing the municipal officials and employees many times, the problem is not being resolved.

On the other hand, due to continuous heaps of garbage at many places like the main dumping yard on Air Force Road, near Hanuman Temple located at Dhundai, Mas village, horse stand, bad smell is spreading in the surrounding areas. Colony residents and nearby shopkeepers and businessmen have informed the authorities several times about this, yet no improvement is being seen. At the same time, due to the municipal authorities not properly monitoring the sanitation workers, vehicles and employees have not been reaching dozens of colonies including Chaudhary Colony, Badi Dhondai, Main Bazaar and Mach village for the last one week to collect garbage. Due to which now the cleanliness system of the entire city has completely collapsed.

These days, a living example of the negligence of the Municipality regarding the cleanliness system in Mount Abu is being seen in the hotels also. Municipal vehicles have not been reaching many hotels to collect garbage since last one week. Due to which garbage has started piling up in hotels also. Due to most of the garbage collection vehicles being broken, there is a lot of trouble in the cleaning system. Due to the deteriorating cleanliness system in the tourist destination Mount Abu, the municipality’s plan to install big dustbins in 25 wards in the month of March was also shelved. If big garbage bins were installed in all the wards in time, then there would be no possibility of filth spreading in the city and people would also have the convenience of dumping garbage. Earlier, the cleaning system of the city was given on contract by the municipality, but due to continuous negligence in cleaning system by the contractor, the contract was canceled a few months ago and the municipality decided to get the cleaning system done at its own level and took the system into its own hands. Had taken it, but now the situation has become worse than before. Due to which the city residents as well as tourists are being adversely affected. In such a situation, the city residents are not getting relief even from the new cleanliness system made by the municipality.
