Encroachments removed near railway station in Dhamtari

Dhamtari. The action to remove encroachment from around the railway station has started from this morning. After giving continuous ultimatums, police officers of the Railway Board, jawans reached Dhamtari with the force. Now the demolition has started. Here, after the casting of the first floor, the work of building a wall in the premises is going on. For this, 15-17 houses will be removed from both sides of the track.

About Rs 550 crore is being spent to convert the oldest small railway line of Central India into a big railway line. This project of about 67.20 km from Dhamtari to Kendri is targeted to be completed by December-2024, but the expected cooperation of the local administration is not being received in completing it on time.

So far, the railway administration has written a letter to the district administration thrice to expedite the work in the station premises and remove the railway affected people. Here, the central government has approved the big railway line project in Dhamtari. About Rs 554 crore has been received to convert the oldest small railway line in Central India into a big railway line. A goods terminal will be built at a cost of Rs 70 crore. According to railway sources, the work of this project of about 67.20 km from Dhamtari to Kendri has been targeted to be completed by December 2024.
