Endowments Dept Asst. Commissioner K. Shanthi Suspended

Endowments Department Assistant Commissioner K. Shanthi has been suspended. Endowments Department Commissioner K. Ramachandramohan has issued orders suspending her in the wake of an ACB case filed against her for having assets beyond her income.

A case was registered against Shanti on the 6th of this month based on information that she had assets beyond her income. Later, on the morning of the 7th, inspections were conducted at three places on Shanti’s properties. Out of these, it was found that there were assets beyond her income worth Rs. 1.37 crore. She was arrested on the same day. She was produced in court and remanded in judicial custody till the 21st of this month. Later, she was taken to Vijayawada District Jail.

According to the AP Civil Service Rules, if a government employee is in custody for more than 48 hours, they should be suspended. It is in this context that Assistant Commissioner Shanthi was suspended. He said that these orders came into effect from the 7th of this month.
