Even on a holiday, HC heard the pain of the rape victim and allowed abortion
Bilaspur. The High Court heard the petition filed by the pregnant woman, a rape victim from Bilaspur, seeking permission for abortion. Taking the matter seriously, the court has ordered the Raigarh Collector to immediately constitute a medical board and examine the victim and submit the report on January 2.
Earlier, after hearing the case, the special court of Justice Ravindra Kumar Agarwal had directed the Bilaspur Collector to constitute a medical board and investigate. Justice Vibhu Dutt Guru set up a special court even after the winter vacation to hear this case.
After the hearing, the court has asked the CMHO here to constitute a medical board as per the notification issued by the Chhattisgarh State Government in June 2024 due to Raigarh being close to the victim’s residence.
