Evening alert, warning of thunderstorm with strong winds in Chhattisgarh

Raipur. The IMD has predicted the arrival of Southwest Monsoon from Sunday, which is likely to bring heavy rains over Kerala. According to IMD, Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into Lakshadweep and parts of South Arabian Sea.

Lightning at isolated places over Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Kerala, Mahe, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Telangana, Rayalaseema and Karnataka, the IMD said in an alert on Sunday. There is a possibility of thunder and lightning accompanied by strong winds. It is noteworthy that the IMD had predicted heavy rains in Kerala from June 6. Yellow alert has also been issued in Pathanamthitta and Idukki districts of Kerala till Monday.
