Excise department confiscated 8.4 liters of liquor
Mahasamund. Under the direction of Collector Vinay Kumar Langeh and guidance of District Excise Officer in charge Nidhish Kumar Koshti and Divisional In charge Deepak Kumar Thakur, raid action was taken by Excise Circle Pithora team on Sunday.
In the first case, 14 pouches of deer branded Mahua liquor totaling 2.8 bulk litres of Odisha State manufactured worth Rs. 700 and 5 pouches of hand-made Mahua liquor totaling 1 bulk litre worth Rs. 200 were recovered and seized from a plastic bag from the possession of Rohit Yadav resident of Navagaon on the edge of the forest of village Navagaon outpost Bundeli police station Tendukona. Total liquor seized was 3.8 bulk litres worth Rs. 900. Similarly, during village patrolling, 23 pieces of deer branded Mahua liquor totaling 4.6 bulk litres of Odisha State manufactured worth Rs. 1150 were recovered and seized from the possession of Sujali Bai Yadav resident of village Navagaon outpost Bundeli police station Tendukona.
In both the cases, possession of illegal liquor from other states was investigated under Section 34(1)(a) and 36 of the Excise Act. The above action was taken under the leadership of Excise Sub Inspector Circle Pithora Shivshankar and Excise Sub Inspector Circle Mahasamund Internal Development Badhendra. Excise team Mahasamund had a special contribution.
