Excise scam: Kejriwal interrogated for 9 hours, statement recorded
New Delhi (IANS) | The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Sunday questioned Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for over nine hours in connection with the alleged excise policy scam. The questioning ended around 8.15 pm. Kejriwal reached the CBI headquarters at 11.05 am. He was asked about AAP leader Vijay Nair, businessman Sameer Mahendru and the matter being leaked before the policy was implemented.
A team of senior officers recorded his statement.
In this case CBI has filed charge sheet and now they are preparing to file supplementary charge sheet.
The then Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia was arrested by the CBI and ED in this case and is currently behind bars.
The Delhi Police imposed Section 144 in and around the CBI headquarters to avoid any trouble and detained 1,305 AAP workers.
