Falgun Amavasya: Know the auspicious time and importance of bathing and donating

According to Hindi calendar, the last date of Krishna Paksha of every month is called Amavasya. At present the month of Phalgun is going on and the Amavasya date of this month is on 10th March. Taking bath in river Ganga or other holy rivers on the day of Phalgun Amavasya has great significance. On this day people donate after bathing. On this day, offerings to ancestors are also made. Just as Purnima Tithi is considered important from the religious point of view, similarly Amavasya Tithi is also considered very important. According to the Panchang, Phalgun Amavasya Tithi is starting on March 9, 2024 at 06:17 PM. It will end the next day on March 10, 2024 at 02:29 pm. According to Udaya Tithi, Phalgun Amavasya will be celebrated on 10th March.
Snan-Daan Muhurta – 04.49 am to 05.48 am
Abhijit Muhurta – 12.08 pm to 01.55 pm
What to do on Falgun Amavasya
On Phalgun Amavasya, wake up early in the morning and take bath in a river or holy lake.
After taking bath, offer water to the Sun. After this, offer water to your ancestors also.
Then resolve to fast.
If you want to perform Tarpan and Shraddha rituals for the peace of your ancestors, then perform those rituals also.
Provide food to the needy and Brahmins.
Donation has special significance on this day. Donate grains, clothes, sesame seeds, amla, blanket, bed, ghee etc. to your ancestors in their name.
Donate green fodder or money for fodder for cows in any cow shed.
Importance of Falgun Amavasya
Amavasya of Phalgun month is considered very important. On this day, by taking bath in the holy river and offering prayers and offerings, ancestors attain salvation. This day is also very good for removing Kaalsarp Dosha. On this day, a pair of silver snakes should be floated in flowing water. This removes Kaalsarp Dosh. Also, on this day, by performing Shraddha rituals of ancestors and donating something in their name, their blessings remain intact.
