Famous Malayalam writer K.B Sridevi is no more
Kochi: Award-winning Malayalam writer KB Sridevi died due to age-related ailments at her Thirpunithura home here on Tuesday, family sources said. He told that she was 84 years old and had three children.
Coming from a traditional Brahmin community, Sridevi entered the world of writing at an early age and displayed her literary talent in various genres including novels, stories, children’s literature, etc.
His contributions to children’s literature, focusing on Indian mythology and folklore, attracted wide attention. She also wrote extensively on the life of women in the Namboothiri Brahmin community.
Sridevi’s major works include ”Yakanjaam”, ”Parayipetta Panthirukulam”, ”Agnihotram” etc.
She was the recipient of several awards including the prestigious Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award for overall contribution to the field of literature.
Condoling her demise, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that Sridevi exposed social evils through her writings.
