Farah Khan: Shilpa Shetty and Raveena Tandon had rejected Chaiya-Chaiya

Apart from being an acclaimed filmmaker, Farah Khan is also an incredible dancer and choreographer. Among the many songs choreographed by him in his career, Chaiya Chaiya from Dil Se remains an iconic song even after so many years. In an interview, Khan revealed that many actresses, including Raveena Tandon and Shilpa Shetty, refused to perform in the song.

Malaika Arora danced with Shahrukh Khan in a moving train in the peppy track Chaiya Chaiya from the film Dil Se. This was something no one had ever attempted. But before Malaika agreed to perform in the song, several actresses were approached. During an event, Farah Khan revealed that even stars like Raveena Tandon and Shilpa Shetty had rejected the offer. “Every heroine had refused to do that song. So this is what I say: ‘You have to be in the right place at the right time’, she said.
