Farmer-Scientist Liaison cum Input Distribution Program under BATCH by ICAR-Kajri, RRS Jaisalmer
Farmer-scientist interaction and input distribution program was organized at ICAR-Kajri RRS on Thursday. In this program organized under SCSP, seeds of four crops (Bajra, Guar, Moong and Moth), three types of plants (Kumat, Moringa and Khejdi) and fertilizers were distributed to a total of 79 beneficiaries of village Meghwalon ki Dhani and Deda. On this occasion, Dr. Anil Patidar welcomed the farmers, explained about SCSP program and conservation of traditional seeds and its importance in arid region. Dr. R.S. Mehta discussed about the agricultural practices in Kharif crops. Dr. M. Patidar explained about fertilizer management in Kharif crops. Dr. S. C. Meena told about the method of integrated pest management and use of pesticides. Dr. Saranya R. explained in detail about the major diseases of Kharif crops in dry zone and their management methods. In the end, Dr. Dilip Kumar emphasized on adopting integrated farming system in dry area and thanked. Rosanlal Meena and Sumit, technical staff from ICAR-Kajri RRS, helped in registration of farmers and distribution of planting material and fertilizers.
