Farmer shot by unknown people in Jalandhar
Jalandhar (ANI): A 35-year-old farmer was seriously injured after he was allegedly shot at by unidentified persons in Athaula village of Jalandhar district in Punjab on Sunday. According to officials, the victim, identified as Gurmeet Singh, was going from Kohala village to Athaula on his tractor when he was stopped by unidentified persons on a motorcycle, who allegedly opened fire on him.
“The defendant shot her twice, injuring her and then fled the scene,” he said.
Officials said local villagers took him to a nearby hospital and admitted him there. His condition was said to be serious.
Speaking to ANI, Aman Saini, SHO of Lambra in Jalandhar Dehat, said, “The victim was shot in the shoulder and stomach and was admitted to the hospital. “We are scanning CCTV footage of the area to identify the accused.” ,
Earlier on October 20, a man had shot dead his parents and his younger brother in Tower Enclave Phase 3 under Lambra police station area of Jalandhar Rural.
The defendant allegedly killed his father with a licensed revolver.
Police suspect a property dispute between the family.
