Farmer slips into pond, downs to death in Keonjhar

Keonjhar: A farmer reportedly downed to death while taking bath in a pond in Odisha’s Keonjhar district on Monday. The deceased identified as Prasant Kumar.

Prasant, who is a native of Agarda village under Ramchandrapur Police station limits, had gone to the field for agricultural works this morning.

Prasant then went to the village pond to take bath after completing his work in the field. However, he slipped into the deep water accidentally and drowned.

Some villagers rescued Prasant and rushed him to the Anandapur Sub-Divisional Hospital in a critical condition. However, the doctors declared him brought dead.

Ramchandrapur Police filed a case of a natural death and started the process for Prasant’s postmortem.
