Banaskantha: Most taluks of Banaskantha district received rain accompanied by strong winds yesterday morning. Due to this, castor, rayudu, fennel, potato and other crops have been damaged in the farmers’ fields. Due to which farmers are not able to even get money for fertilizers and seeds. In terms of losses, the situation is such that farmers are not able to get money even for fertilizers and seeds. So now it is the farmers’ turn to cry for water at night.
In this regard, while talking to , the farmers said that ‘We did farming by bringing expensive fertilizers and seeds. We were hoping that there would be a good harvest this time so we would be able to repay whoever we had borrowed money from or from the banks from this crop. But due to unseasonal rains, standing crops in our fields have been uprooted and huge losses have been incurred. Especially in our area, castor, rayadu, fennel, potato and other crops are being damaged. Our demand is that the government should help by conducting a survey in this matter. What the agriculture officer said: In a telephone conversation with Banaskantha district agriculture officer Maheshbhai Prajapati through, he said that the farmers have not suffered any loss due to the current rains. Since farmers’ crops have benefited from this rain, there does not seem to be a need for a survey.
