Farmers happy after opening dam gate, water reached dry fields

Balod. Farmers have got relief from drought in Balod. Actually, Chhattisgarh’s Parliamentary Secretary and MLA Kunwar Singh Nishad has opened the gate of Kharkhara Dam after listening to the problems of the farmers. This will release water for the fields. The MLA has assured the farmers of the area that till sufficient water is not available, they will continue to give water from the canal. As soon as they came to know about the release of water, the farmers have started taking water to their respective fields.

According to the farmers, the MLA of the area Kunwar Singh Nishad is the son of the farmer. That’s why he is worried about the farmers. The MLAs are engaged in the service of the public by visiting the area night and night. Right now the major problem of the farmers was water, which was removed by the MLA. Farmer Ramchandra Patel says that after sowing paddy, he has not got the required amount of water. Those who have boreholes, they are doing irrigation. But those who do not have bore, were facing the brunt of drought. When the parliamentary secretary came to know about this, he wrote a letter to the Irrigation Department. Today he himself has removed the water problem by opening the gate of the dam.
