Farmers should not be fooled by trusting middlemen: Begumpet Sarpanch Chanti

Ramagiri, April 23: A grain purchase centre was inaugurated in Begumpet village of Ramagiri mandal on Thursday under the patronage of village sarpanch Mantena Chanti and deputy sarpanch Sandela Renuka Kumar. This centre, set up by the government to ensure that farmers get fair prices on time, is giving hope to the local farmers.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Sarpanch Mantena Chanti said that the purchase centers have become crucial for farmers to get the right support price for the grain they have worked hard to harvest throughout the year. He suggested that if the grain is brought directly to the government purchase centers without relying on middlemen, not only will it avoid fraud but it will also get the right price.
He also said that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure that the purchase process continues transparently and quickly. He said that steps are being taken to ensure that there are no difficulties in matters like weighing, storage, and transportation. He said that the grain brought by farmers to the center will be checked according to quality standards and registered immediately, and payments will also be made quickly. He urged every farmer in the village to utilize this opportunity. He said that if the facilities provided by the government are taken advantage of, the financial condition of the farmers will improve.
With the opening of the center, farmers in Begumpet and surrounding villages will also find great convenience. Farmers who had to travel far to sell their paddy till now will now be able to buy it near their village. Farmers are happy that this will reduce transportation costs and save time.
